Conor McGregor has disclosed the amusing incident where the Paul brothers` façade of unity crumbled immediately after their highly publicized first encounter at President Trump`s inauguration event.
The meeting took place in January, following years of verbal sparring and serious talks about a potential boxing match between McGregor and Logan Paul in India. The video documenting their face-to-face interaction went viral, capturing Logan and Jake Paul taking playful jabs at the UFC superstar.
However, McGregor claims that as soon as the camera, operated by their mother Pam Stepnick, stopped recording, the two siblings instantly turned on each other. Their dispute centered on ownership of the footage, which they recognized as a massive exclusive content opportunity for revenue.

While en route to Donald Trump’s second Presidential Inauguration, Conor McGregor and the Paul brothers were grouped together on a bus, having left their security details behind. The Pauls` mother was present, documenting the moment they finally crossed paths with the former two-division UFC champion.
Jake Paul had persistently mocked McGregor and pushed for a fight, but at the time, it was Logan who was close to securing a lucrative bout. McGregor suggested that Logan allowed this opportunity to slip away by remaining passive.
Speaking in an exclusive interview from his Dublin establishment, The Black Forge Inn, McGregor noted that once the content creation stopped, the brothers’ real issue was with each other rather than with him.
“It was fascinating because they’re doing it all on phones, right?” McGregor explained. “These young men are content creators; they’re YouTube guys. So when I arrive, I’m just walking around not thinking of anything.”
“So I show up and straight away they’re like ‘get the camera’ and it was their mother – who I actually thought was lovely, a good woman – who had the phone. So she’s filming and we’re talking and what not. Then we get on the bus and the two brothers start going at each other over whose footage it is! So whose footage is it? Is it Logan’s or is it Jake’s? I just thought it was funny. I suppose because there’s revenue in that, that’s their whole little world.”
Conor McGregor had a `sweet deal` for a Logan Paul fight
At the time of the meeting, McGregor was working to finalize a massive financial deal with the Ambani family in India to host a fight against the elder Paul brother. Although Jake is the more active professional boxer, Logan was considered the more sensible opponent for that specific `nixer` (side project).
McGregor still believes such celebrity bouts could eventually happen, but only after he returns to the Octagon and pursues his goal of obtaining a third championship belt at welterweight.
“I had a sweet deal there,” McGregor noted. “Look, those YouTuber fights will come. I’m coming back for glory, for the gold belt, for the triple crown. That’s what I’m after. So all these other side projects? Look at Mike Tyson [who recently fought], look how fresh he looks, he’s an inspiration to me.”
