UFC superstar Conor McGregor has officially accepted an 18-month suspension from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) following three missed anti-doping tests in 2024. The UFC confirmed that Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD) had attempted to collect samples from McGregor on three separate occasions: June 13, September 19, and September 20, all of which were recorded as “whereabouts failures.”

In a statement released by the UFC, it was noted that McGregor fully cooperated with the CSAD investigation. He took full responsibility for the violations and provided detailed information that CSAD deemed relevant to the circumstances surrounding the missed tests. This cooperation played a crucial role in mitigating the standard penalty.

Considering McGregor`s willingness to collaborate and the specifics of the situation, CSAD decided to reduce the typical 24-month ban for three whereabouts failures by six months. As a result, his period of ineligibility officially began on September 20, 2024โ€”the date of his third missed testโ€”and is slated to conclude on March 20, 2026.

The former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion has not competed since July 2021, when he sustained a serious leg injury during his bout against Dustin Poirier. McGregor has recently expressed his intentions to make a highly anticipated return to the octagon, with a potential fight targeted for June 2026, which would coincide with the end of his current suspension.
