UFC President Dana White has responded to the significant new media deal secured by Zuffa Boxing. Earlier this year, TKO Holdings unveiled plans for a new boxing promotion, provisionally named TKO Boxing, spearheaded by White and Turki Alalshikh. The promotion recently hosted its first major event, featuring a blockbuster clash between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford for the undisputed super middleweight title.
Following this successful debut, TKOโs boxing venture has now secured a broadcasting partner, following a similar trajectory to the UFC.
Zuffa Boxing Forges Broadcast Partnership with Paramount
In early August, the UFC announced the termination of its long-standing broadcasting agreement with ESPN in the United States, signing a substantial $7.7 billion deal with Paramount. Now, just weeks after its initial foray into boxing, Zuffa Boxing โ the new professional boxing promotion formed by TKO and entertainment conglomerate Sela, under the leadership of White and Alalshikh โ has also finalized a media rights agreement with Paramount.
Commencing in January 2026, Paramount will exclusively broadcast a comprehensive schedule of Zuffa Boxing events. The initial plan includes 12 events, with intentions to expand this number in subsequent years. These events will be accessible via Paramount+, with certain selections potentially simulcast on CBS, mirroring the UFC`s new broadcast arrangement.
White expressed his excitement in a press release, stating, “Iโm thrilled to bring outstanding boxing events to a global audience. Millions of boxing fans will now have the opportunity to watch competitive fights featuring both emerging talents and the sportโs biggest stars. Paramount will be the premier destination for UFC and boxing enthusiasts to witness the greatest events in combat sports.”
Turki Alalshikh Shares His Perspective on the Historic Agreement
Turki Alalshikh, widely recognized for his pivotal role in revitalizing boxing by orchestrating highly anticipated matchups in recent years, also shared his views on the partnership.
“This collaboration with Paramount significantly strengthens our vision to revolutionize how viewers engage with boxing,” Alalshikh remarked. “More fight fans will gain access to experience some of the most thrilling boxers. We have witnessed clear evidence of the immense demand, and this partnership signifies the future for live boxing coverage, ensuring the sport`s continued flourishing.”
