Magomed Ankalaev`s Social Media Controversy Before UFC 320
Magomed Ankalaev, preparing to defend his light heavyweight title at UFC 320 on October 4, faces skepticism from fans. After defeating Alex Pereira at UFC 313, Ankalaev appears to have significantly increased his “trash talk,” provoking a response from Pereira. However, the MMA community doubts that these messages genuinely originate from Ankalaev himself.
For a long time, Ankalaev`s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, has been accused of controlling his fighters` social media accounts, including those of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev. Given Ankalaev`s limited English proficiency and his heightened social media activity, many have speculated that Abdelaziz is behind the verbal jabs directed at Pereira.
Ankalaev attempted to dispel these rumors, stating in a recent post: “Just for all the fans out there, for the last two months I make my own tweets. Chat GPT and Google Translator is the best.” Yet, even after this statement, fans remained convinced that Ali Abdelaziz was behind the messages. Comments such as “Ali, Ali… come on, now. We know itโs you,” “Ali has been running this account since March,” or “Lmao, the tweets and the way you are in real life donโt match at all bro. But Aliโs personality and the tweets match” clearly indicate that Ankalaev`s attempt failed. Fans continue to believe he is being disingenuous.
