Following her departure from mixed martial arts, Molly McCann is contemplating a new chapter in her combat sports journey, potentially shifting her focus from MMA to boxing. The devoted Everton supporter officially ended her decade-long career in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) last month at UFC London, where she suffered a submission defeat to Alexia Thainara.
Despite her retirement from the UFC, the 34-year-old athlete has confirmed her strong desire to return to competitive sports. However, she has unequivocally stated her refusal to participate in “influencer” boxing events.
“I`m sure in a few weeks we`ll know what I`m doing; I anticipate a major announcement somewhere,” she revealed in an exclusive interview.
“It will be competition in some sport, whether it`s football, Hyrox, or, who knows, pickleball, paddleball. I wouldn`t rule anything out.”
McCann`s comments suggest an exciting future for her fans, as she remains committed to an active competitive lifestyle, even if it means exploring entirely new sporting disciplines beyond the octagon.
